I am still study­ing the recent Cre­ative Cap­i­tal Report on the Irish Media, but was heart­ened by the rec­om­men­da­tion that con­tent pro­duc­ers should retain copy­right of their ideas. I have been cam­paign­ing for this for a long time. At last we are being heard. It is inter­est­ing that the old­est ref­er­ence to intel­lec­tu­al copy­right comes from Ire­land in 576 when Saint Colm­cille wrote ‘To every cow it’s calf to every book it’s cov­er’. Con­fir­ma­tion of the long wait.
